The American Showcase series represents a fascinating universe that hovers between reality and illusion, borne out of the reflections in New York’s windows.

Les Frontières de la Perception (The Edge of Perception) series uses superimposed images and juxtaposes the characters, places and situations.

Stopped in the streets of New York, passers-by responded to questions about their life, aspirations, behaviour and dreams. By placing in between these testimonies a mirror and illusory effect created by the reflections in windows, the photographer subtly interrogates American society.

Exhibited together for the first time in Paris in 2010, the American Showcase and Les Frontières de la Perception series were brought together in a beautiful book which also includes the layout of the exhibition and screen shots of videos filmed in New York.
