PORTRAITS

RLSH-986-RLSH

In 2010, the photographer Pierre-Elie de Pibrac spent four months in the USA seeking out real life super heroes. Numbering around 300, these ordinary citizens carry out voluntary work for the benefit of the most underprivileged while wearing costumes inspired by mythical figures from comic books and Mexican cartoons. By arranging the subjects in a studied pose in the very places where they carry out their missions, Pierre-Elie produced a series of staggered portraits of these guardian angels of everyday life.

PHOTO SCULPTURES

RLSH-473-photosculpture

Pierre-Elie de Pibrac immortalized each of his super heroes on a photographic medium that reflects their universe. Each photo sculpture produced in this way is then showcased in a wooden shipping crate, as if to immortalize them.

PHOTO FIGURINES

Pierre-Elie de Pibrac places the RLSH figurines on a bed of polystyrene chips so as to immortalize them, as well as show up their fragile and rare nature.
